Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2 Format: XBox 360, Playstation 3, Wii and PC Metacritic: Between 38 - 49 across various formats " Step into the roles of your favourite heroes in the epic finale of the entertainment event of the decade. Playing as Harry and other key characters in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 videogame, you are on a dangerous and urgent quest to locate and destroy the remaining Horcruxes, and with them, Voldemort." My first design role was working for EA Brightlight as a junior designer.  As part of a team of designers I worked on both Deathly Hallows video games, released simultaneously with the films.  The games were designed to follow the action of the films, with third person cover shooter gameplay themed around the harry potter universe.   Originally the studios intention was to create a cover shooter for the HD consoles of the time (the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC), and to create a different version of t...

Zombies!!!

Zombies!!! is a board game that can be played by up to 6 players based in a city that is infected by zombies.  Normally the game board is built by placing 1 3x3 square tile at the start of each players turn, however I found that this system could lead to boring games and miss opportunities to use some of the game's features.  In order to create a more defined game experience I created a custom scenario, where the city is already laid out and the players must complete a series of objectives within a certain number of turns. To allow a certain amount of balancing, one player must usually play as Zombie master, and use their turn to move and spawn a random (d6) number of zombies each turn.  The following is the gameplay notes and city map used to play a game of Zombies: Special operations!!! Zombies!!! Special Ops Briefing It is exactly 14 days after z-day, the first record of the zombie infection outbreak. You are one of several soliders and survivors that mad...

Stunt Fighters

Stunt fighters is a personal project with the aim of creating a prototype game that I could develop myself, showcasing level designs and allowing me to develop my knowledge of java as a scripting language.  The game design is purposefully simplistic to suit casual gamers, and to allow me to scale and add features as my knowledge of java increased.  The prototype was developed using the Unity editor.

Guinness World Records: The Video Game

Nintendo Wii,  DS and iPhone Guinness world records: the videogame allows the player to attempt to break a number of different world records with their customized character avatar and compete online to be the official world record holder for each event.  These world records were represented in by a series of mini games that the player could access from a world hub.  Each mini game was designed with gestures or touch controls that suited the real life action of the player. On Guinness world records I worked as an artist creating character costumes for special unlocks in the game.  I also generated assets used in the GUI and in the various game worlds. http://www.guinnessworldrecordsgame.com/ Wii metacritic: 67 http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/guinness-world-records-the-videogame DS metacritic: 70 http://www.metacritic.com/game/ds/guinness-world-records-the-videogame A player attempts the Tight rope walk world record.  The Wii mote is held horizont...
